Everyone is better, they can wait and they can see that they don't need to to be special, as they sit beneath the tree they cross their legs and outline circles in the dirt that coats the ground and like the motion of their fingers they will always come around cos they can see that there is life beneath the fabric of this town. What if I lived until I'm 80 had I wasted all my time? And if I'd lived until I'm 30 was I just about to shine? And if I had another chance would I feel happy and content? And would I feel like I've accomplished something worth all that I spent? Or was I just another kid who thinks it's cool to be upset? Well you decide.
I contradict myself with all the stupid things I say like when I tell you that amphetamines are leading you away, it only shows that I'm a hypocrite I loathe all that is mine, but even that's a contradiction as I'm exercising pride, I only write about myself to make my thoughts seem justified.
We criticise ourselves as if it neutralises shame so we don't have to worry all about the things we say again, it's only natural to think that every time we do wrong that we can just apologise and then the problem is gone, and this ultimately proves there's no point to this song.
